Terrific show on the hero! Great character development concepts, Kiki, seriously. But something you said threw me for a loop...
Your favorite character is the swashbuckler, you say?
Have I got a podcast for you...Morevi: The Chronicles of Rafe & Askana by Lisa Lee and yours truly. Just picture Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon mixing it up with Pirates of the Caribbean.
Intrigued?
I've actually started listening to it.
! I've subscribed through Podiobooks a while ago, but never seem to have the time to just listen to the tale (I prefer not to do something else while enjoying fiction).
So far, it's great! Do you happen to know whether the print copy is actually distributed in Australia? It can be a bit difficult to get smaller press books here at times. I might have to order it... ^_^
Hey, Kiki...e-mail when you can. Got a favor to ask...
Kiki,
Outstanding show. I heard about your podcast from Tee, and I've definitely added you to my bookmarks for future shows.
I liked the notion of accessorizing as well. Even writing fantasy as I do, I like to try and give characters something unique, a special weapon, a silver brooch they were (with specific memories attached to it), etc. I agree, it helps not only make the character more memorable, but sometimes the accessory gives me an idea for a sub-plot (What's the story behind why the archer has only gray fletched arrows?)
Looking forward to your next podcast!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA i have finally heard your podcast. First thing i have to say, well done and good job. Second thing, you sound sooooooo different on the podcast and lastly, i think it was good of you to touch on the male character first before the female, cos everyone believes that females are the most important of romance and this clearly shows that the male is just as important. I mean whats a romance without the guy.......okay lets not go into that -_-' AAAAAAnyway, i'll be keeping an eat out for your next cast. Ciao
oh i'll remain anonymous for now and see if you can guess who i am, i'll reveal my identity the next time i post :D
I turn my back for one second, and suddenly everybody's commenting. Yay!
Richard, I think fantasy esecially lends itself sooo well to accessorising, since the presence of magic et al can make objects characters of their own (the Elric tales come to mind...).
Tee is an advertising machine! Look out for him on my next show. ^_-
Oh, and Mr Anonymous... There are only so many people that laugh like this. =P
And yeap, can't have romance without the guy; at least not traditionally...
As for sounding differently, I'm working on that. But doesn't everybody sound differently in recordings? ^_-
THAT'S NOT MY VOICE! Nooooooo!
Okay, now back to editing that next show.
What's this. You go and make a pocast and don't tell me about it. For shame.
**shakes head**
